Curry Cures Climate Killing Cow Belching

If you add curry seasoning to your cow's diet, they'll belch less methane, and be more climate friendly livestock.

Cow belching is a major source of methane, one of the most dangerous greenhouse gases, as we explained earlier in this article.

If you have lots of cows, or just love the few you have and can't bear to part with them, here's the start of a solution to this source of climate change.

Two common seasonings, coriander and turmeric, do a pretty good job of killing the methane producing bacteria in the cow's stomach.

Researchers feel that methane emissions from farms might be reduced up to 40% if these seasonings were added to cow feeds.

Methane is 20 times more damaging to the environment than CO2.
