Huge Iceberg Breaks Off Of Greenland Glacier
An iceberg four times the size of Manhattan has broken off of Greenland's Petermann Glacier.
To put the birth of this iceberg in to context, the last time an iceberg of this size was created was in 1962.
This event occurred about 620 miles south of the North Pole.
The new iceberg has a surface area of approximately 100 square miles, and is around 700 feet thick.
There's enough water in the iceberg to supply all of America's water consumption for about four months.
