Black Holes May Contain Hidden Universes
Nikodem Poplawski of Indiana University releases a paper proposing that black holes could contain entire universes.
Poplawski developed his theory by analyzing the motion of particles entering black holes, using a modified version of Einstein's equations of general relativity.
The theory holds that the spinning of particles may at some point become a force that counters the incredible gravity of black holes.
Gravity compresses matter as the matter enters the black hole, like a spring being compressed. Then, according to Poplawski, matter may spring back in to it's original size as the spinning force of the particles (called "torsion") over powers the force of gravity.
From these calculations, Poplawski speculates that, "Maybe the huge black holes at the centre of the Milky Way and other galaxies are bridges to different universes."
This raises the question as to whether we ourselves are living within a black hole.
