Speedy Star Shoots Out Of Milky Way Galaxy
A high velocity star has escaped the Milky Way galaxy, and is now racing through space at 1.6 million miles an hour.
Scientists using the Hubble Telescope have observed that a hyper velocity star called HE 0437-5439 has been expelled from the Milky Way galaxy.
These events are rare, given that only one of 100 million stars are hyper velocity stars.
Luckily for us, this star is racing away from Earth.
