Scientists Working On A New Way To Detect Tsunamis
Scientists are making plans to monitor tsunamis using GPS satellites that can detect disturbances in the atmosphere.
Tsunamis are of course caused by massive underwater landslides.
As we know, these events cause ripples of energy through both the land and water.
It's also true that tsunamis create waves of energy in the air.
Tsunami's cause electrons and charged particles high in the Earth's atmosphere to vibrate, and these vibrations can be detected by GPS satellites.
This technique will add another layer to the tsunami detection techniques already available.
